RENS X TARKETT

Linoleum is traditional yet perfectly contemporary: natural and sustainable, easy to maintain, and tough as nails. With Lino Undercover, we uncover the hidden facets of linoleum. The material breaks free from its well-known image and sheds its familiar reputation.

RENS X TARKETT

The collaboration with Tarkett – an alliance in design, colour, and material research – started in 2014 with the unveiling of Re-vive Rugs with carpet producer Desso, a division of Tarkett.

This partnership resulted in the introduction of a commercially appealing yet remarkably sustainable range of carpet tiles in 2021: Re-vive Tiles. Building on this success, the partnership was extended in 2023 with the introduction of linoleum adventure Lino Undercover.

What if down is up, and back is front? If the invisible becomes visible and the frayed edges take center stage? When material qualities are allowed to speak for themselves and it's not the finish but the start that takes the spotlight?

For over 125 years, Tarkett has been producing linoleum following the same original recipe. Constantly evolving and searching for new applications and possibilities, the flooring brand initiated this collaboration with RENS.

Stripping, slicing, dissecting, reversing, fitting together and colouring. Pure linoleum, of course, but exactly different from what we're accustomed to (only its natural scent remains). Showcasing what a unique collaboration can lead to, presenting discoveries you wouldn't have imagined. Research findings, applications, and product concepts that hold great promise for the future.
